As you can see I decided to get into the spirit of all these stressful uni talks and put on my University of Chicago shirt (i.e. my father's University of Chicago shirt). It feels quite funny wearing this now because I actually really want to go there, whereas before it was just another shirt. I'm going to see it in July so I guess we'll see..
Also even though it's nearly July, it's still depressingly chilly most days so the furry leopard print jacket had to make an appearance:))
Also NEWS my school librarian just asked me whether I wanted all the old editions of NME so now I have about a hundred old editions sitting in my room which is AwEsOmE!!
and in honour of the fact that I now have a Jamie T magazine, let's have some Jamie T!!!
I think I'll end this post with some Ezra appreciation:
<3 such a bae<3
I really want to do a proper post about him sometime soooon in an attempt to express my boundless love& affection- I really really really want to see him in Madame Bovary, but I feel like this is the only time where a shitty pirated online version of the film will not be okay
Helloo The shitty quality is so annoying here because you can't see the true velvety amazingness of this skirt- it was my grandma's and I luvvv it. At first I didn't wear it at all because it really doesn't suit me or my body shape, but when I was sick I wore it a lot because it was so comfortable and now I love it too much to care :PPPP
My top is from River Island and my shoes are from Russell & Bromley- the flip flop necklace was a birthday present from my mum (I've put a picture of it down below :))
Anywayyy, as I said before school is almost finished and there's heaps of work to do, all of which I have refrained from doing
Also the post title is a quote from The Easter Parade and I cannot recommend reading it enough!! Byee
I'm afraid that this is a filler post as I haven't really had the time to do a proper one- there are ten days until the end of school and I. cannot. wait.
I don't actually know where my shirt and bottoms are from... also little confession, they are indeed pyjama bottoms for those of you who are staring at this and think I'm crazy, BUT they're mad comfy and I would definitely wear them out. I'll also include a little close up of my necklace as you really can't see it in the photos
I don't really have anything else to say apart from let's have a quick moment of appreciation for ABBA and their tight men dungarees
I know I've been deplorably inactive over the past few days, but I had the flu which is definitely not normal for me- it was so annoying because I got sick right after my last exam, and so instead of lying in bed and eating many cornettos (dream life), I was lying in bed and dying.
But anywayyy, I feel better now! However, as all I've been wearing is tartan pyjamas, I've just put together pictures of what I've been doing.
I finallly got some wool last week- I was going to knit a black shawl but I saw this greeny-bluey colour in the shop and really liked it. It's really nice having something to do with my hands when I watch a movie (which is something that I've been doing a lot more of recently!) My aunt has the best bench which is now covered in roses, so I thought I'd add that in as well.
I spent Friday and Saturday completely immersed in Sarah Waters' book Tipping the Velvet, which was recommended to me by both my English teachers and is on the whole is so racy that I had to hold on tight to stop it from speeding away- but I love the way she writes and it was very very good and I definitely recommend it :)
Aside from that, Only real has featured heavily in my week as well- if I had to choose a favourite singer/songwriter, it would definitely be him (I feel like having a favourite is such a big thing because it's so hard to choose, so I hope that tells you how amazing he is!!)
He's a bit like King Krule, except I hate to say this but as much as I love King Krule, our friend Niall Galvin is the one for me </3 Here's a cute lil photo shoot for you all xo
luv u
AhhHH he's so good. I'll give you a little list of stuff to listen to just in case you want to give it a go:
1. Petals
2. Break it off
3. Can't get happy
4. Lemonade
5. Yesterdays
+ everything else seriously wow
I've also been watching heaps of movies in my exam-less sick-ful state (as I said before).
The Blair Witch Project 2 was SO good- I watched it with my sister and I loved it and I loved Kim. In fact, I think you need to watch it just to see how cool she is.
Erica and her body chain were also pretty cool. Much inspiration to be had from both of their outfits!!
I also watched Freaky Friday again and I definitely wasn't expecting to laugh as hard as I did. Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis are A* actresses and both were fuckin hilarious (or maybe it's just me with my 5 year old sense of humour). Also it was definitely very aesthetically pleasing style wise- I feel like the fact that Lindsay can pull off those shapeless low slung trousers shows that she really is a goddess.
So yes that was my exciting few days! I'll hopefully have an outfit post up very soon
I feel like this skirt is seriously the most exciting thing I own- all these sequins in one place make me feel like a mermaid. I got it off Asos, and I know Missguided does a dress version, but this was on sale and had free delivery and and and!
Also, I was looking at my previous posts and you couldn't really see my shoes/bottom half in any of them, so I put a light piece of material on the floor which has made such a difference (although you still can't really see my shoes).
My shirt is from Cottonon from ages ago, and it kind of makes me think of clouds. My necklace is the same one from my tea party birthday party way back when.
By the way I am completely obsessed with these people- I reallllly want to go see them on July 2nd, but my school breaks up on the 3rd so we'll have to see :( Also the fact that Only Real did about a million concerts in England in May (all of which I missed) and is now in Moscow for the interminable future breaks my soul a little.
I absolutely love this dress.. can you guess where it's from?
One of my favourite occupations is taking evening dresses and dressing them down- I luckily am spoilt for choice by my mother's incredible post-2000s cupboard. The asymmetrical wavy cut of this dress and the sequins are my favourite parts.
The necklace is my sisters but I feel like I should clarify something because the amount of times I've said something is hers on this blog is getting a bit crazy- it's hers but she never wears it so has temporarily "lent" it to me (i.e. it's mine but I pretend that she still has imaginary ownership to keep her happy). This denim jacket on the other hand is hers- it's here in my first post ever: http://queeenpriscilla.blogspot.co.uk/2015/02/sunflowers.html
I've got my history mock tomorrow so I should probably think less about sequin dresses and more about medieval kings :(
As you can see I've finally figured out how to stand up! ha ha
This dress was my mum's- the beaded fringe is my favourite bit, it's so pretty and fun to swish about :) I was going to wear it with some other plain black boots but saw my old running shoes (which have luckily remained fairly intact thanks to the extreme lack of use on my part) by my cupboard and realised that they've got turquoise backs. Love it when that happens.
My necklace is my sister's and my earrings were a birthday present from my mum. I know they aren't really the same colour but I love them both too much and couldn't not include them in this general blue theme!
My shirt is my mum's- as you can see there is a recurring theme of me nicking my mother's clothes..
